A Letter From Coni…

I'm writing this letter at the end of 2001 (and am glad its ending). It had taken me longer than usual to compose because I wanted you to understand what happened in NYC on 9/11.

Although NYC is a city of millions the reality is that at our heart we are just a large small town. There were so many people whose lives were touched in one way or the other by the attack on the Twin Towers. It became evident to all that we are all connected on an invisible as well as visible plane. The city was silent for weeks after the attack. We all walked around with the demeanor of one who was attending a special wake. As time passes, things are beginning to return to a certain level of activity, but they are by no means the same. Nothing is the same, especially the energy of the people who live and work here. The life view has changed as we now all realize that at our center we are all striving for similar ideals — love, understanding and peace. This goal was made evident by the way the government, citizens and world reacted in response to this terrible terrorist attack.

There is now, for me, a greater understanding of the importance of a group such as the Wayshowers. A group whose mission is to lead the way on the spiritual journey of understanding self in relationship to the Creative Forces, by offering our service to the community in love and service. Edgar Cayce has stated that the more we connect in our hearts to that perfect place of peace daily through meditation, prayer and contemplation, the more we create a peaceful loving world for ourselves and all humanity.

I would like to thank Leslie Cayce for assisting us, even as she was experiencing the loss of our friend and supporter Keith VonderOhe, Irene Spangler for handling the logistics for the refreshments for our meetings, and Debra Schneck for volunteering to put this newsletter out while gracefully putting up with delays.

I look forward to meeting and sharing with you in February at our Wayshower Gathering and am thankful for the opportunity of being with, and part of such a special group of dedicated and loving people. I know that 2002 will be a remarkable year for us all.

Love, Peace & Joy, Coni

A Gift From Henry … a Wayshower Website!

By Debra Schneck

Henry Reed has generously gifted the Wayshowers with a website. The intent, use and content of this website will be discussed further at the Wayshower Friendship Gathering in February.

Content may include copies of this and future newsletters, a description of who we are and what it takes to become a Wayshower, and a list of individual Wayshowers along with their psychic/intuitive profession and/or avocation(s).

In its finished form, it may also contain links to individual Wayshower websites, Henry & Carol Ann’s websites, the Association for Research and Enlightenment (ARE) website, and that of the Intuitive Studies School.

All of this will be at no cost to individual Wayshowers!

Henry has offered to initially “load” the information to appear on the site, and, if as a group we decide that the website is a good idea, a volunteer(s) will be sought at the Wayshower Friendship Gathering to periodically update the site.

It has the potential of offering “real-time” information and updates to Wayshowers, while reducing the cost of disseminating information.

A placeholder for the finished site is at www.creativespirit.net/wayshowers.

If you would like to be included in the listing of Wayshowers on this site and are not planning to attend the Wayshower Friendship Gathering, please contact Debra at SchneckDeb@aol.com. In the title field, type in: Wayshower Website.

— Call for Email Addresses —

To make communication more efficient and timely, and to save money on future correspondence, please provide your email address to SchneckDeb@aol.com.  In the title field, type in: Wayshower Email Address.  We only have a few on-hand, and it would really help communicating with you!

Keith VonderOhe – In Memorium

By Coni Buro

As many of you know by now, Keith VonderOhe passed this October from complications resulting from cancer. He was a wonderful and gentle man and a friend to the Wayshowers.

I had the opportunity to work with Keith in setting up what has now become the annual Wayshower Gathering. He was always helpful, kind and reliable. As the ARE moved through its various stages of change, he remained the person to go to for guidance and support.

He was strong in his faith, conviction and support of our group's ideals. He believed in what we were trying to accomplish and helped in many ways.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to his family. He is missed and will remain in our thoughts and prayers.

Henry & Carol Ann • ARE Psychic & Intuitive Conferences

By Debra Schneck

(with input from Walter Krause)

The time for the Edgar Cayce Legacy Conference is once again upon us (February 24 to March 1). As is ARE’s policy, Wayshowers may attend for free. If you are planning to attend, please register, so that ARE Conferences can plan accordingly.  When registering, tell the Registrar that you are a Wayshower, and if you wish to lead a breakfast sharing group, advise the Registrar of that as well. Also, plan to attend Carol Ann’s informal meeting for all Wayshowers on Sunday, February 24 from 6:30 to 7 pm in the mini-auditorium. It is a short meeting, but important!

The Legacy Conference will be the only Psychic & Intuitive Conference offered by ARE Conferences this year. Atlantic University is planning to pick up the Advanced Psychic Intensive and the Entrepreneurial Spirit conferences. What is the connection? The Edgar Cayce Institute for Intuitive Studies (ECIIS) is now part of Atlantic University (AU). ECIIS will continue to maintain its identity as a separate school but is now operating under the auspices of AU. Dates for these two conferences are yet to be determined.

The Legacy and Intuitive Imagination Conferences, Carol Ann’s Intuitive Technologies, and Henry’s Intuitive Heart are available by home-study through the Intuitive Studies School. For more information, contact Midge Woods at eciis@edgarcayce.org or at (757)457-9034.

An all-new ARE Headquarters conference, to be presented by Henry and Carol Ann, is scheduled for September 26 to October 1.  It is entitled, Trailblazing: An Intuitive Approach to Setting Goals & Making Life Changes. It is separate from the Wayshower track, and no Wayshower discounts apply for this conference.

This year, individually, Carol Ann and Henry are offering several workshops and at-home study experiences.

Don Arey • Gateway to Healing • Post-Conference Workshop

One of our own, Don Arey, is leading a day-long workshop on Saturday, March 2nd — Gateway to Healing: Tapping Into Your Healing Potential.

The workshop is designed for the student willing to continue their spiritual growth and explore their own healing potential.  Don believes that everyone has the ability to heal … they just need training to develop their skills.  Using over 30 years of healing experience, Don will help students learn how to use the power of their right brain to help themselves and others heal.

This workshop provides solid, grounded introductory level healing, training, and features: detecting the presence of energy and energy fields, making energetic connections with others, full body connection, unruffling, how to deal with headaches, relaxation and imagery, chakras, and pain drain.  It is a very experiential workshop, educational, fun, and highly recommended!

Wayshower Tips & Guidelines

It has been (amazingly enough!) a year since we last facilitated groups, and helped Henry and Carol Ann put on the best conference that A.R.E. offers!  For those of you planning to attend the 2002 Legacy Conference (some for the first time), here are some ways you can be more actively involved and more effective.

General Ideas on How to Assist

©      Hold the group energy, and fill the auditorium with light before the workshop. Smile and be encouraging.

©      Be alert to anyone who looks alone and engage them to make sure they feel welcome.

©      Assist with distribution of materials.

©      If needed, help the instructor prepare for the workshop as well as pack up at the end of each day.

©      Collect miscellaneous questions and comments from participants and share them with the instructor.

©      If assigned to a specific group during Carol Ann’s morning sessions, each day bring your group together. It is important that you be there each morning for your group.  If you cannot, let your group and Carol Ann know so that other arrangements can be made.

©      Take care of everyone, and set a positive tone.

Specific Guidelines for Facilitators

Define your role. In the beginning, introduce yourself and define your role.

Don’t talk too much. Keep your statements to a minimum.  Let the group do the talking.

Be an energizer. A group is like an individual; it has a collective energy pattern that fluctuates.  Be aware of the ebb and flow of the group energy.  Help direct the energy toward the task.

Set and maintain a positive tone. No “yes, but’s”. Establish an atmosphere that helps the individuals express themselves.

Protect the group from one person’s domination.  You can deftly take the focus and the floor away from a dominating person by deftly interrupting: “Good idea, Bob. Now what do you think, Ruth?”

Respect silence. When the group is silent, don’t panic.  The group could be pausing to think about what has been said.  Don’t fill the conversational lull with idle babbling.

Educate the group. Know when to share your experiences with the group. Through your experience and training, it is likely that you know how to deal with certain problems and improve performance.

“Be” with the group. Remain with the group in case they need help. If conversing with another Wayshower, people hesitate to interrupt.

Adapted from guidance given for “Intuition Technologies Workshops”.

9 Conferees, 9 Wayshowers, 9 Clam Shell Gifts

By Jane E.B. Fry

In the luminous light of a full moon, just after midnight, nine new and old friends met on a balmy, breezy Virginia beach. In the shadow of 9/11 (three weeks prior), but also in the light of intentional love, joyful chanting, praying, dancing and singing began.

Meira Aliyah, Coni Buro, Teri Esposito, Craig Fry, Jane Fry, Mike Kramer, Chris Minnich, and two other Wayshowers spontaneously sang hymns, solemnly offered prayers for peace and understanding, and joyfully vocalized Beatles songs of peace and love.

With the rhythm of the ocean's waves in the background, the sounds of native drums and rattles filled the air. The group shared native harmonic sounds as they danced barefoot in a circle on the sand. "In song and dance is joy, in joy is love, in love is God, in God is peace," they chanted, as they danced around their sacred circle.

Meira drew the ceremony to a close by singing Amazing Grace, and the group joined in embracing each other and holding hands in a circle of love. Nine friends hugged as this magical evening wrapped up the spirit-filled Intuitive Imagination conference.

As the group departed, Craig noticed an ank or female symbol which had been danced into the sand. He was inspired to give its meaning. He stated that this feminine sign of nurturing had been scripted in the sand at the beginning of our millennium with an intent for peace. In the moonlight, nine friends parted as their nine paths appeared as rays from the ank.

The next morning Jane felt drawn to the beach to gather sand from the center of the feminine symbol. When she arrived at the place where the circle had been the night before, she found herself amid open white and black clam shells.  Nine — one for each of the members of the circle.

Nine peace-keepers, nine clam shell gifts from the sea. The Grace of God is Amazing!
