wpe7.jpg (5518 bytes)We are going to spend some time on the relationship between personal development and the development of intuition. Some of this relationship has to do with motivation. Some of it has to do with the cross-training relationships between personal development and intuition development. It also is a subject very much in keeping with the Edgar Cayce readings. He held a very high ideal for us, that we develop intuition in a context of spiritual development. It wasn’t simply for the purpose of making sure that we would apply our intuitive skills in an ethical manner. It was for the purpose of making sure that we got the very best results possible from our intuition development: the awareness of soul, the realization that God can speak to you directly, the experience of oneness with all life. Anything less would be to shortchange yourself. These are some of the reasons we are including some lessons on self-development as part of our intuitive development program.

It turns out that many of the components of intuitive skill building presuppose a development of character. For example, learning to trust intuition is essentially a task in learning to trust yourself. That kind of self-confidence requires something more than learning a technique.

Assignment #14

How does intuition development relate to your personal ideals? Envision your ideal for personal growth and your image of an ideal life-style. How will intuitive development promote this ideal? Write out a statement about why you wish to develop your intuitive ability, and what you expect this development to contribute to your ideal life.

Email your ideas on this subject to your friends. Ask for their comments. Ask them if they are living their ideal life and if developing their intuition might help them.
