How is Intuition Possible? |

How can it be that we can learn about the world "out there" by looking within? How is it possible? Its time to take a look at theories of intuition. Well go right to the source--intuition itself!--by seeing what Edgar Cayce had to say, when he was in his state of heightened intuitive awareness, about what makes intuition and psychic ability possible. Well look at some other sources, too. Explore this reading material: In our Library:

Optional Readings on Philosophy: Make some notes on your reading about key points. Keep in mind the original purpose of this reading: To understand how it is possible to learn about the world "out there" by turning within. Ideas about intuition suggests that we have a lot to learn by turning within. We hear, "Its all within!" If so, then intuition becomes the most important ability we can develop. Is it important that we understand what makes intuition possible? Does having a model of reality that explains intuition necessary, or is it for intellectuals only? What ideas from your reading would you want to remember ten years from now? Assignment #12 Summarize the most important ideas from your reading the material listed above. Explain why these ideas are important and how they contribute to your improving your relationship to intuition. Email your friends your comments and ask them to respond.
Assignment #13 Now that you have reviewed a sizeable amount of literature on the nature of intuition, it is a good time for you to turn to your own intuition. Take some time to relax and allow yourself to develop your own intuition about intuition, about what makes it possible. Allow your intuition to bring to your awareness an image, or symbol, that reveals how intuition works. Let the image answer the question, "How can you learn about the world out there by turning within? How is it possible?" Email your friends about your intuitive discovery about intuition. Ask them to try the exercise and to send you the results.
