A common approach to accessing intuition is to
set an intention (a question, a concern, a purpose) toward which you wish your intuition
to enable you. Then "release," "let go," or "open up" to
what comes. It is often the case that what comes is to be regarded as a metaphor. That is,
your intuition speaks in terms of a symbol, or analogy. In many cases, the intuition
exercise focuses your receptivity. In the exercise that follows, you are directed to allow
yourself to see what animal comes to mind when make your inquiry. Use the following
exercise to ask the question, "What are some characteristics of how my intuition
