Astrology is an excellent tool for use by anyone who wants to gain insight into their own character, talents, personal challenges, and energies surrounding their activities today.

I am especially excited and most interested in teaching the fundamentals of astrology to people who want to learn more about themselves...about their own charts in a fun and straightforward way.

It is not important or necessary that you become a professional astrologer, but that you are willing and open to learn more about yourself and perhaps those closest to you. I believe that anyone, with a little time and effort, can learn the basics of astrology, which can be used to enhance personal and transpersonal growth.

The classes I teach do include a healthy amount of lecture, including overheads and handouts. But, more and more, I incorporate experiental techniques (guided imagery, play, art, music) to help students more fully understand the concepts behind the words. I use my chart and students' charts as examples and strongly encourage student participation (Q&A). To date, the following astrological classes, workshops and lectures are available and ongoing:

The Fundamentals of Astrology course covers the elements, planets, signs, houses, aspects, planetary patterns and configurations, basic chart synthesis, and transits. Once taken, you have the basis for any further coursework in astrology. . . you have the language and general concepts.

The Topics in Astrology course, geared toward intermediate students, focuses on one subject per class. These classes may be taken individually or as part of a complete series. Past topics have included: Astrology and the Use of Intuition, Astrological Cycles of Life, the Lunation Cycle, Compatibility, Solar Returns, Current Events and Personal Transits, Predictive Techniques, Chiron:The Wounded Healer, Exploring Consciousness Within the Chart, Esoteric Astrology Overview, and Karmic Astrology: Exploring Past-Life Indicators in the Chart.

Experience the Planets! workshop is a 3-,4- hour or all-day workshop, which guides you through a series of exercises to help you experience the essence of the planets, including the Sun and Moon, and the four elements: Fire, Earth, Air, Water. The workshop is quick, fun-filled, occasionally meditative and reflective, and above all painlessly informative and educational! For those with no astrological knowledge, the workshop provides a wonderful introduction to the planets and elements. For those who do know a bit, the workshop provides a deeper, more intuitive understanding.

So many changes! The Astrological Current Events lecture explores, from an astrological perspective, the energies present at the end of this millennium, behind recent specific events, and what we have to look forward to...

Intuition and Astrology is a course under development which will be designed for the student who wants to learn astrology from the right side of the brain (to use a common metaphor). It will be self-study, and requires no prior knowledge of astrological principles.

The Interpretive Techniques course is also new, and discusses and practices, using student and example charts, different interpretive techniques. By experimenting, we discover the technique and style most comfortable to individual students. In the process, we learn how to recognize planetary patterns and how to organize planetary details. We apply predictive techniques we have learned in the process of chart interpretation, and discuss the accurate, artful and ethical communication of the horoscope.

I also occasionally travel to different towns and cities, and provide one-week Astrological Intensives. These intensives cover the same material as in the Fundamentals or Topics classes in the same amount of classtime (24 hours), but are conducted over two weekend days (2 Saturdays or 2 Sundays), plus two or more weeknights in-between.
