Please enjoy Chapter 1 of my upcoming book.

Enjoy!

Allow it to be Easy

Dear One,

Greetings from your Soul. I come to provide you with a picture of your world which is fully inclusive. My purpose is to introduce you to concepts which, when employed, will allow your life to be easy. These concepts will feel familiar to you as you tap into the one-ness. That is, we are all one energy connected through our souls.
I wish you peace during your journey through this book and through your life. Allow your world-view to expand to include the metaphorical truths offered to you.
In peace and love,

Your Soul

I received this Soul message through "automatic writing." First I centered myself and entered a state of gratitude. Then, with my dominant hand (I am right-handed) I wrote a question to my Soul. I asked my Soul to provide a message for you, the reader, from our collective Souls. I then switched the pen to my left hand and waited. When I could "feel" a voice in my mind saying "Dear One" I began to write. I allowed myself to write whatever message came through me.
This is how I receive guidance from my Soul. Try it! Allow it to be easy.
If you have another tool for receiving messages, please share it with me!

Chapter 1 - Your "Call to Essence"

I want to begin at the end.

"This book has truly changed my outlook on life... and does what it says it is going to do. While reading about my life purpose, I began to realize a very serious mistake I was making. I have always believed that happiness is dependent upon the amount of money one has. This is probably because money or lack of it was always an issue for my family growing up. I learned from my father that people with money were to be respected and admired. Those without were lazy and worthless. Therefore, I worked very diligently to make sure that I had enough money to be a "worthwhile" person. In that process, I had lost myself completely. I had more money in my life than ever, and yet I felt more anxious, fearful and unfulfilled than ever. It suddenly dawned on me that money had prevented me from following my life's purpose. Starting to think about doing what I wanted to do gave me motivation and excitement that I hadn't felt years. Instantly, I felt lighter, and more free. Thank you for these life changing tools. Allow It To Be Easy opened the door to the truth, compassion, and love that I have inside myself."

I received this note from Leslie Upton after she read this book. My wish is you will become clear on your life purpose…you will find greater motivation and excitement for your life…you will feel lighter and more free…you will open the door to your truth, compassion, and love…your life will become easy.

Let's begin by meeting your Essence. Your Essence is the person you are when you are without pain or fear…when you are in peace…feeling safe to be yourself. Feeling safe is what we all want. When you speak from your Essence, you are speaking from your heart instead of your head. People can hear you more easily when you speak from your heart. We all want to be heard. If living in and speaking from your Essence is your goal, I want to help you reach that goal.

Your innate Essence is composed of what I call "Essence Qualities" ~ for example love, compassion, gentleness, curiosity,…. The courage and freedom to be yourself shows up more often and with greater ease when you are clear on your Essence Qualities. I want to introduce you to your Essence Qualities. With that knowledge base, you feel empowered to live your life authentically. You know and can speak your truth. You become clear on your boundaries. You understand how to nourish yourself.

Many of us have heard our inner voice issuing the "Call to Essence." You hear that call when you feel as if something is missing in your life. Your life appears fine from the outside looking in, yet there is still something missing. You may notice it physically ~ a sense of emptiness inside longing to be filled. You may notice it emotionally ~ feeling as if you have nothing left to give. You may notice it mentally ~ your concentration abandons you. You may notice it spiritually ~ feeling disconnected. Each of us has our own unique Call to Essence. What is yours?

That inner voice is your intuition nudging you to take a good look at your life and become clear on who you are and what you want out of life. As you answer the call, you can decide what in your life serves you and what hinders you. You begin to live from your Essence. You realize that what was missing was YOU ~ the authentic you ~ your Essence.

During our journey together you will discover that your Essence Qualities serve as a clear and supportive guide for the little and big decisions you make and actions you take. Embracing your Essence frees you to serve yourself and others with abundant energy. Living from your Essence crystalizes your self-concept. This congruency leads to internal peace. Your self-esteem is enhanced day-by-day as you allow your Essence to come forth freely and clearly.

To meet your Essence and uncover your Essence Qualities, I invite you to take the following journey.

Tool 1 ~ Meet your Essence, the Authentic You, your Soul Self

Begin by thinking of a dear friend or loved one. Write his/her name below. Under his or her name write the innate qualities you most admire (i.e., honesty, integrity, compassion). Please don't confuse "qualities" with "characteristics" (good sense of humor, a good teacher, great golfer.) Innate qualities are not learned; they are natural behaviors.

Know, deep within your soul, that each of these qualities are YOUR natural qualities. They are your Soul qualities. They are your Essence Qualities. Some of these qualities surface often, others surface occasionally, others only surface when you feel safe, and others may have not yet consciously surfaced.

Next, think of a mentor (someone you know) or a hero (not necessarily someone you know personally). Write his/her name and list his or her admired qualities. Again, know that each of these qualities are your Essence Qualities.

Now, think of one more person you look up to and list those qualities you admire. Each time your write down a quality, know, deep within, it is yours as well.

Review the qualities you have listed. You have described your spiritual Essence. Know that at the soul level you ARE these things. Write, "I am…" and list your Essence Qualities. You can continue to add to this list of your Essence Qualities as they come to your consciousness.

"When you discover your essential nature and know who you really are, in that knowing itself is the ability to fulfill any dream you have…"

Deepak Chopra

If you have doubts, if you are not sure some of these qualities are really you, ask someone with whom you feel safe. You will find these ARE your qualities. Allow yourself to know and to accept your authentic Essence.

You have met your spiritual Essence…your authentic being. Your Essence is unchangeable. It is awaiting your call.

Stop reading for a moment and sit with this truth.

You were born in your Essence. As a baby you were your Authentic Self. With time your Essence began adjusting to your environment. At times your perception of others' behaviors engendered pain or fear. Perhaps you perceived a Big Person as rejecting you. Perhaps you perceived a Big Person as threatening you. At times like those, you manifested a layer of emotional protection over your Essence in order to feel safe…in order to take care of yourself. You may have decided to become a quiet child, or assume responsibility for taking care of others, or become a jokester, or excel in school, or…. Each of us created our own forms of emotional protection in order to fit into our family structure.

The following fable may help clarify how you have protected and comforted your Essence along your journey called life.

"The Princess and the Pea" Revisited

In “The Princess and the Pea,” written by Hans Christian Andersen, a waif is discovered to be a princess by being able to feel a tiny pea hidden under 20 mattresses and 20 down comforters. Let’s revisit this story from a new perspective.

Imagine the waif represents you, as you know yourself today. Climb on top of the pile of mattresses which are covering the pea. Snuggle comfortably among your soft white billowy down comforters.

Imagine that during your childhood and teenage years you laid those

Mattresses ~ emotional protection ~

over the

Pea ~ your Essence ~

in order to thrive, or perhaps even survive, during childhood. Each Mattress was manifested when you perceived and then believed you needed to push away an element of your Essence in order to take care of yourself.

As you moved further and further from your innate Essence Qualities, you began collecting

Comforters ~ material possessions, or people who "do" for you ~

in an attempt to comfort your Essence.

As your Essence became buried layer by layer (Mattress upon Mattress), stress was felt all the more deeply. You began to feel an emptiness inside. Your buried Essence was gradually lost to your conscious memory. Your Mattresses began to dictate your response to your life. Your responses became an unconscious part of yourself. You began to respond to life in unconscious, habitual ways.

Throughout your life you have gathered Comforters in an effort to soothe yourself. You may have gathered Comforters without thought. These Comforters bring instant relief from the stress of your buried Essence. The relief does not last long. You find yourself seeking more and different Comforters ~ often feeling as if something is missing and hoping the next Comforter will fill in that hole.

When you feel the discomfort of the pea, when you feel as if something is missing in your life, the suppressed parts of your Essence ~ those parts which you may have found hard to recognize, or bring forth, in yourself ~ are longing to be brought to the surface. This discomfort is a signal that your layers of Mattresses and Comforters are no longer serving you. Adulthood brings with it the opportunity to evaluate your Mattresses and your Comforters.

Your smooth and soft Comforters may be culturally prized material possessions and/or people who "do" for you ~ people who fill you with a sense of well being. You found that the emptiness could be filled with one of these Comforters, temporarily, only to become the void once again. When you perceive that one of your material or people Comforters is flawed, you take it personally. You find yourself needing more and different Comforters, and the cycle continues.

You have created a dilemma. If you depend primarily on your Comforters to bring meaning, harmony, and peace to your life, you will never have enough.

Are you driven by the fear of losing your Comforters or the need for more and better Comforters? If yes, you begin to feel more and more stressed. Your accumulated Mattresses and Comforters control your life in unconscious ways. You are controlled by your fears of the future (not enough Comforters), which are based on the unresolved pains of your past (layer upon layer of Mattresses). You can feel the pain and fear in your body. You find yourself striving to create even more Comforters in an effort to ease the pain and fear. You are looking for external sources of joy, peace, love, healing, and passion for life. There must be something more.

On the other hand, if you listen to "The Call to Essence" and you answer the Call, you create conscious intent to uncover and embrace your Essence.

Answer the "Call to Essence"

If you decide to answer "The Call to Essence" your Comforters can be kept, or not. If you keep a Comforter, recognize it as ‘Comforter’ ~ as something you want in your life, not as some external thing you need to make you happy. Discard those Comforters you thought you "needed" and keep the ones you want. Simplify your life.

- It may be helpful for you to make a list or your known accumulated Comforters below. These Comforters can be material or people. As you list them, consider how each supports you.

As you embark on this journey your life will go through a series of cycles. Choose to engage in an ongoing course of examining your Mattresses, and consciously transforming the old limiting perceptions, and resulting beliefs and behaviors, into

Essence Pillows ~ conscious supportive perceptions,

beliefs, and empowering behaviors.

In the next chapter you will learn how to transform your Mattresses of unconscious perceptions, fear, and pain, into Essence Pillows of new perceptions, beliefs, and behaviors which better serve you. Visualize your Mattresses being transformed, one by one, into a fluffy Pillow which supports your Essence. See your stack of Mattresses dwindle as your Essence Pillows rise.

As you visualize this process, keep in mind that transformation can take time. Have patience with yourself along your sacred path. Life is a continual process of personal transformations towards remembering the wholeness of your Essence.

In just this moment, be in the truth of your Essence. How does that feel?

As often as you remember to do it, be in the truth of yourself. In those moments, live in the truth of who you are. Post your Essence Qualities, to remind yourself of who you are.

Let's learn how to more fully integrate these aspects of your Essence into your life, into your being. Each moment is a new beginning.

Allow it to be easy.

"Your diamonds are not in far distant mountains or in yonder seas;

they are in your own backyard, if you but dig for them."

Russell H. Conwell

To get the most out of your experience with this book, I suggest three steps before you continue:

First, become clear on your intention for reading this book.

§ Conscious intention is a form of participation ~ I participate in my transformation.

§ Passive intention is a form of victimization ~ You are responsible to transform me.

Conscious intention results in a powerful journey through a spiritual self-help book.

To determine your intention for bringing this book into your life, consider and make note of…

- What about the title drew you to this book?

- What about the back cover, or book reviews, or author's bio, or testimonials or your friend's recommendation drew you to this book?

- What do you want from this book? Write out what you want. Start the sentence with, "I want…." (peace, energy, clarity, freedom from pain, etc.) On the next line write, "I really want…." And again, "I really want…." Keep writing until you are clear what it is you are looking for, so that when you find it you will know. And if you don't find it in this book, you will be clear on what to look for in the next book you read or seminar you attend.

- Change your final "I want" statements to: "My intention is to…" Intention is the key to personal transformation.

Second, if you don't find what you want through this book, or some other means, how will your life be? This is a vital step. It will provide you with clear motivation.

- Write below how your life would be if you don't find what you want.

Third, what are you willing to give to the process? To receive, it is essential to give. It is all a part of the circle of life.

- Write down what you are willing to give (time, energy, trust, faith, an open heart, commitment, etc.) to this process and to yourself, in order to receive your desired results.

As you journey through this book, keep referring to these three points, to ensure that you maintain a clear direction on your path.

Japanese Proverb

In Chapter 2 you will come into a deeper understanding of who you are today. You will learn how you have protected and comforted yourself along your journey called life. Let's more fully discover and embrace your Essence, the truth of who you are, moment by moment.
