The YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly

A Beautiful Learning Environment

Nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly is located on 1200 wooded acres.  Perfect for watching the changing
colors of autumn, there are hiking trails, a lake, and scenic views … all without leaving the property!

The YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly is arranged in a campus-like setting. We will be staying in an onsite dormitory. Each room has one double bed and a single (actually, 3/4 bed), and its own bathroom with shower. TVs and phones are located in community rooms within each building.

The room rate is $68/night for a double or single. (Obviously, sharing a room results in significant savings!) Check-in time is Sunday late afternoon/evening; check-out time is Friday morning. We have set aside a limited number of rooms, so register as early as possible to take advantage of this unique location!

If you prefer to stay in standard motel accommodations, there is a Comfort Inn and Super 8 in Black Mountain, NC within 10 and 15 minutes, respectively, of the Assembly. You must make your reservation directly with the motel you select.

If you are staying at the Assembly, we strongly recommend that you take advantage of their meal plan. The meal plan includes 5 breakfasts and 5 lunches (Monday-Friday), served buffet-style. For those of you who are vegetarian, there will be at least one vegetarian entrée, hot vegetables, bread, as well as complete salad and dessert bars at lunch. Cost of the meal plan is $70.

Dinners are on your own. In Asheville and nearby Black Mountain, NC, everything from grocery stores to fast food to formal dining is available. A list of suggested restaurants will be distributed at the conference.

Since lunch is "all you can eat," you may wish to simply acquire some snacks for your evening delight.

Just 15 miles east of Asheville, NC, and 2 miles from Exit 64 on I-40, the Assembly is easily accessible by car.  Visitors flying into the area may use the Asheville Regional Airport (AVL), which is served by Delta, American and USAIR airlines.  Rental car companies are located at the airport, but if you would like to be transported to and from the airport, please let us know and we shall make the necessary arrangements for you.
