Explore Chimney Rock Park
On Wednesday afternoon, or as weather permits, we will go to the top of Chimney Rock in Chimney Rock Park. You have the option of taking an elevator 26 stories inside the mountain to the Sky Lounge gift shop and snack bar, or joining us for a hike along a trail which features a subterranean shortcut, catwalks from rock to rock, and a stop at an authentic moonshiner’s cave. After reaching the top, we will head out along the Skyline Trail for a 45-minute scenic hike to the top of Hickory Nut Falls. It’s all downhill from there, along a natural ledge traversing the sheer cliffs. As we walk back to the parking lot, we will pass Inspiration Point, where the view will simply take your breath away.
